I'd have to agree, A Link to the Past is by far my favorite, then its actually Link's Awakening for the Game Boy. I voted for the original though, no other game was quite so much fun to explore as a kid. Once I learned that you could burn the trees, I spent hours trying to find more hidden shops/dungeons (I only had the first candle so I kept having to re-enter the screen over and over again).
I've got to say that the 2D Zelda are just more enjoyable for me than the 3D ones. Wind Waker would have to be my favorite of the 3D ones thus far, though.
