I'm not sure if I'm in the minority on this one but I can't wait for Red Dead Redemption. It's really looking like GTA: Spaghetti Western. The original Red Dead Revolver got some mediocre reviews (anything in the 70% is usually written off as junk), but it was a great little game. I had it on the PS2. I'm thinking of rebuying the Xbox version to play on the 360, but I should probably just branch out and get Gun. Anyone else in to these Westerns?

don't worry aspower! I can't wait for it either!! It looks amazing as well as huge lol. I've never played the original Red Dead, but I have played GUN and I recommend the game! Its really fun, but kind of short, I think I beat it in a weekend, and after you're done with the last boss.......there's really nothing you can do. But I'm hoping RDR will be as good as or better than GUN

Glad to hear there's some more wannabe Clint Eastwoods out there. The brevity of gaming that Gun offers has kept me from taking the plunge, but it does look like a fun ride. Do you remember that Wild Western coin op game? Now those were the days.

I love cheesy westerns and am looking forward to playing RDR. I enjoyed Gun quite a bit, if you haven't played it it's probably dirt cheap at any used game store and probably worth the few bucks. I wish there were more good western games out there, the western genre provides so much material that translates perfecty into video games.
Speaking of old western games, I loved the old arcade game Sunsetriders, the home versions were fun too, but they don't hold a candle to the arcade version. |

Red Dead Redemption is looking great so far, I'd really like a good western game.
I liked GUN as well, but mostly for the atmosphere - they really got that one right. The gameplay itself was rather lacking (and too easy), but the atmosphere was good enough to keep me playing until the end. Wasn't really fond of the latest Call of Juarez, so here's hoping this sequel is more to my taste

I enjoyed the 1st Red Dead, but I never completed it due to time constraints and lending out my PS2 indefinitely. I'm considering picking it up on the xbox just to play through it again. It was fun and challenging at points. I think many people consider it a classic.

If you're not excited about it yet, check this out:
YouTube - Red Dead Redemption: Life In The West trailer Unfortunately it's delayed until 5/18, but hopefully that means we get a better polished game. |
